Trust & Safety Center

Your safety is our top priority. We use advanced technology and manual reviews to keep scammers off our platform, but here's how you can protect yourself.

Golden Rules for Renting Safely

Always Visit in Person

Never transfer money or sign a lease without physically visiting the property and meeting the owner or their authorized representative. Virtual tours are great for shortlisting, but not for finalizing.

Verify Ownership Documents

Politely ask to see the latest electricity bill, property tax receipt, or the sale deed to ensure the person you are dealing with is the actual owner of the property.

Keep Conversations on AddaFind

Avoid moving to WhatsApp or direct phone calls until you've established initial trust. Our platform's messaging system keeps a record of your interactions for your safety.

Beware of Unrealistic Prices

If a deal looks too good to be true (e.g., a fully furnished 3BHK in a prime location for ₹10,000), it's likely a scam. Scammers use low prices to pressure you into paying a 'booking amount' upfront.

Red Flags to Watch Out For

  • •The "owner" claims to be in the military or out of the country and cannot show the property in person.
  • •They demand a "gate pass fee" or "visiting charge" before you even see the house. (This is a common scam).
  • •They pressure you to transfer money immediately via UPI "before someone else takes it."
